Welcome to Oceasia's Beauty Forum
INTRO TO THE NAIL & BEAUTY FORUM and blog
Hi, as a visitor to the nail site you may be wondering what
I am on about with regards to the nail forum and blog.
What will the nail blog and the forum be about?
Good question. The forum is going to be more of a focus on nail products. At Oceasia we basically focus on nail art.
We import the nail tips we work with and usually the nail art and pigments that we need to produce the art. These
items then become part of our product range. Our contact with the public is through the
direct sale of our nail products. In the past we used to go Salon to Salon with our range of designer tips, as well
as visiting nail & beauty suppliers. We also sold our products on ebay. Nowadays most of our orders are online. We
no longer go out to meet the client. I felt we might lose touch with nail techs and their needs if we did not interact
more. So the idea of starting a blog came along. While the forum will mainly be a focus on nail products, the blog will give us
an opportunity to offer what knowledge
we have of the nail industry from a manufacturer/ wholesaler/ reatailer point of view.
What sorts of things will the blog feature?
Over the next few months I will be posting such items as: What colours are popular sellers, what colours are
popular in what areas, why the price of Australian nail products are so high ( compared to the States or Japan etc),
what designs are popular to both nail techs and end users ( by end user I mean the client who actually wears the products.
I will in future refer to end users as nail clients). I will take a look at nail art around the globe and discuss nail
art in detail ( nail art such as marbling with nail polish, handpainting, airbrush stencil cutting, working with nail art like beads
etc).
I will take a closer look at nail polishes and the best ones to use for nail art. There is a wide variety
of nail polishes out there from OPI to AMWAY to AVON.
Hopefully with the help of other nail artists out there we will get more feedback on application products such
as NSI, IBD, Ez Flow, Odyssey Nail systems and more. So please email with your comments regarding the
nail products you currently use and perhaps the ones you were trained with and let us know if they are one
and the same and if not why a change was made.
Other items to appear in the blog will be various observations I have made over the last few years as a manufacturer/ supplier.
These observations will include the various clients we have had and the ones that have succeeded in relatively short time frames.
I will also be commenting on trends that we notice such as the number of emails we get regarding requests for details on
nail techs that can use our tips or do nail art themselves, also the type of nail application products that clients
are showing interest in and nail art trends as well.
I would also like to mention that we are focused on nail art on this site and it is my personal belief that nail techs
out there that do incorporate nail art into their product line up are artists.
Why do I think nail techs are artists?
Anyone that sculptures or designs or creates something that is aesthetically impacting is in my books an artist and I have seen
many nail techs out there do some amazing stuff. In countries like Japan it is of course worth the effort because clients
are willing to pay around $100.00 (US$) for a set of plain white French tips and up to US$10.00/finger or more for nail art.
Anyone want to move to Japan?
Here in Australia it is a little different.
Anyway thanks for reading and I hope you take a look at our blog(if it is up). There is a place to leave comments on the blog page
so please do. Any and all comments are welcome. If there are questions you have about products please by all means don't hesitate
to ask. Also please let me know a little bit more about yourself and your own experience in the nail industry. Where you
were certified,...the first nail application product you were introduced to, whether you prefer gel or acrylic,... what kind of
nails your clients are in to eg: white french (winner hands down) or more adventurous tips (nail art).
We get a lot of emails from clients asking whether we can introduce a nail school, or nail tech to them so we are
considering either listing details on nail techs and nail courses on our site or creating a database offline (easier to update).
So by all means if you are an instructor or a nail tech and are interested in having your details passed on by us please email
us with your information (email and txt messaging are the best ways to get hold of me).
And here is an invitation to all nail artists out there: if you can please get photos of your artwork to us so we can feature you
and your artwork on our site, if you are toooooo busy (as most nail techs are) then ask someone who likes messing around on the
computer to do it for you.
Well thanks for reading and we hope to hear from you.
