Marbling Prep
In this close-up on marbling we are going to take a look at marbling on tips or directly onto the natural nail.
For designing on tips make sure you prepare a skewer or chop stick by wrapping double sided tape around one end, this will be used to attach the tip to. Then apply a base coat to the tip.
For work on a natural nail be sure to have a cotton bud and nail polish remover ready.
Prepare the natural nail as per usual, wipe the surface of the nail with alcohol to remove oil and debris, then apply a base coat.
Timing is critical with marbling so being fully prepared is a must.
Nail polish hardens quickly on the water surface so as part of your preperation be sure to have all the bottles you are planning to use open and ready to go.

Fill a cup or glass with water, almost to the lip -90% full. Add the colours of your choice by placing each drop gently onto the surface of the water. Nail polish is an important element in marbling.
The nail polish should be of good quality and of a liquid even consistancy.

Use a pin or needle, dragging it from one edge to the other to create the desired look. Experiment, have fun!

Insert the nail tip into the water.

Remove the excess nail polish while the tip is submerged. This is key to the success of this type of marbling.

Once the rough edges have been cleaned remove the tip from the water.
To finish apply a top coat.

FOR THE NATURAL NAIL- Prepare the design as described above then submerge the natural nail. Keep the nail and finger submerged while removing any excess nail polish or residue from the water's surface. Lift the nail out of the water in one swift motion. Remove any excess polish from the surrounding skin using a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

To finish apply a top coat.
Wash the hand, then apply an essential oil moisturiser to the skin to prevent drying.

One thing I can add is avoid quick drying nail polish and while it is best to be in a well ventilated area when working with nail polish, a windy enviroment will cause the nail polish to dry too quickly. Experiment with your work enviroment to find the optimum spot.

Who can purchase these tips
These tips are available to both nail techs and members of the general public who love nails. Basically there is no restriction on purchasing. We do ask, however, that the nails be applied professionally for the best results. The nails must be applied with acrylic, gel or fibre glass nail application systems.
REFILLS
Another great benefit to using our tips is that we supply refills of our hand made products, if you run out of certain sizes you can order just the sizes you need. By refills we mean that if you order a set of 50 and run out of certain sizes needed to do more sets simply put in an order for the sizes that you need. In that way you are able to make full use of each set you buy from us.
The tips come in sets of 28 or 50 tips at AUD$7/ tip.
Refills are a minimum of 20tips also at AUD$7 / tip.
Marbling is very time-consuming and the price reflects that. If you love the marbled look but just can't get the time to practise then order it from us- Otherwise keep trying!
